Assessing a workstation, to ensure it is ergonomically sound, is a sound strategy to prevent disability. Prolonged poor posture or sustaining an activity in a poor position can lead to long-term physical problems. But what is also important to understand, is that on-going difficulties related to poor ergonomics could have a negative effect on productivity. When jobs are designed to match the capabilities of people, it results in better work being executed and an improved experience for the employee
Ideally an ergonomic risk assessment should be conducted as a proactive measure to prevent difficulties developing. Our assessment reports will highlight the problems areas and offer advice on how to improve the identified issues. This might involve provision of equipment, which we can arrange or suggestions changes in task execution.
